Why Claude Can't Find Logos for Your Pitch Deck (And How to Fix It)

Why This Happens

This isn't a bug in Claude — it's a fundamental limitation of how large language models work.

LLMs are text models

Claude processes and generates text. It doesn't have a database of images to draw from, and it can't "see" or retrieve visual assets.

It can't browse the web in real time

Unlike a browser, Claude can't visit a company's website, find their logo page, and download an image file.

Image URLs are hallucinated

When Claude tries to produce a logo URL, it generates something plausible-looking that doesn't actually exist. The link is broken.

Even if it finds something, quality and rights are uncertain

A random image from the web might be low-res, outdated, or the wrong variant. There's no guarantee it's the official logo.

What People Try (And Why It Doesn't Work)

If you've tried any of these, you're not alone:

"Just find the Goldman Sachs logo"

Claude returns [Goldman Sachs Logo] as placeholder text or describes what the logo looks like.

Pasting a logo URL and asking Claude to use it

Claude can't fetch external images. The URL gets inserted as text, not an image.

Using DALL-E or image generation

AI generates a fake logo that violates the company's brand guidelines. It looks wrong.

Manually downloading and inserting logos

Works, but defeats the purpose of using AI to automate deck creation.

The Fix: Give Claude Access to Real Logos

The solution isn't to make Claude better at guessing image URLs. It's to give Claude a tool that can actually find and retrieve logos.

That's what MCP (Model Context Protocol) does. MCP lets Claude use external tools — the same way a browser extension gives your browser new capabilities.

Quikturn MCP Server

Connect the Quikturn MCP server and Claude gets access to 17M+ real company logos. When it builds a deck, it automatically searches for the right logo, retrieves it in the correct format, and inserts it. No placeholder text. No broken links. Just the real logo.

Before vs. After

Same prompt, same deck structure. The only difference is whether Quikturn is connected.

Prompt:

"Build a pitch deck comparing the Big 4 consulting firms with their logos."
